Understanding and Working with Data: Foundations of Data Literacy, part of the Ready, Set, Research Workshop Series
Presented by Songyao Chen
Data is more than numbers in a spreadsheet—it may include survey responses, interview transcripts, images, audiovisual materials, text collections, observations, code, and many other forms of evidence. This workshop introduces the foundations of data literacy, including how to identify, evaluate, organize, document, interpret, and responsibly use data in research projects and course assignments. Participants will also learn about common issues involving data quality, privacy, ethics, ownership, and sharing.
This is a Foundational: Interdisciplinary Workshop for Undergraduates
Attendees should expect instruction to be delivered through Interactive Discussion.
This workshop will be given Synchronous Zoom, https://towson-edu.zoom.us/j/97786024811?pwd=KtdERNcipKQVjQ8G5MvdVq8o33dE9A.1
