Eternal Love | An evening of Songs and Piano Works

Join faculty members Phillip Collister, baritone, & Christopher Dillon, piano, for an immersive evening of Lieder and solo piano works by Clara & Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. Readings from personal letters of the three composers will serve to illuminate their passionate relationships as husband and wife and as life-long devoted friends. Works include Clara Schumann's Scherzo no. 2, Op. 14; excerpts from Robert Schumann's Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13; and Intermezzos and Ballads from Op. 117 & 118 by Brahms. Selected Lieder and readings are curated to create a song/piano cycle that brings these artists' eternal love for each other alive again today.
