Brian Bates

Comedian Brian Bates worked for nearly 20 years in corporate America until at the age of 43, he gave up his day job to pivot into a career as a stand-up comedian. Since then, the Nashville based comedian has been touring the country performing at comedy clubs, theaters, corporate events, and churches. Brian has released two Dry Bar Comedy specials, titled Uber Important and Hello Folks. His latest special, titled Worried, was released in July 2026 on the Nateland Entertainment YouTube channel. As an originating member of the highly popular The Nateland Podcast, Brian served as a host and producer during the show’s six-year run. He now works with fellow comedians Aaron Weber and Dusty Slay as one of the hosts and producers of The Public Figures Podcast, heard by thousands of listeners each week. He performs regularly on the legendary Grand Ole Opry show and can be heard frequently on Pure Comedy Channel 98 on SiriusXM satellite radio. In addition to stand-up comedy, Brian made his acting debut appearing in two episodes of the 2022 Amazon sitcom Sprung. He most recently appeared in the 2026 Nate Bargatze movie The Breadwinner. A native Tennessean, Brian resides in Nashville, TN, with his wife, four-year old daughter and a seven-pound maltipoo who all regularly provide amusing material to incorporate in his act.
