Alabama Ballet presents American Portraits

In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, American Portraits is a vibrant mixed repertory program honoring the artistic voices and cultural spirit of the nation. The program features Stars and Stripes Pas de Deux, choreographed by George Balanchine, a brilliant display of neoclassical energy and patriotic flair. Also included is To Heal, choreographed by Christopher Stuart, a deeply moving work set to Gospel music that reflects themes of faith, resilience, and renewal. Rounding out the program is Dispersal, choreographed by Christopher Stuart, a contemporary and abstract exploration of motion, connection, and transformation. Together, these works span generations of American choreography and musical influence. The program highlights both tradition and innovation in ballet.
