Saxophonist Tony Exum Jr.

Tony Exum Jr. is a contemporary jazz saxophonist whose music combines the satin finish of smooth jazz with the punch of funk and R&B. A graduate of the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music, he launched his solo career in 2010 and began touring nationally soon after, developing a sound known for melodic clarity, rhythmic confidence, and a performance style that reaches beyond the jazz audience. His recordings include Finally, The One, and the Rhythm N Smooth era of singles that expanded his national radio presence. “My Name's Tony” spent twelve weeks on the Smooth Jazz Network Top 100, while later releases and a distribution partnership with Sony's The Orchard helped move his music onto broader charts and playlists. Across the catalog, Exum favors memorable hooks and an alto sound that can be tender or sharply percussive. Live, he brings charisma to the technique. Expect smooth-jazz favorites, funk-driven originals, soulful ballads, and energetic solos delivered with an easy rapport that turns a listening-room set into a shared celebration.
