DESCRIPTION:Corn Day is a celebration of corn in all its forms—agricultur
 al\, culinary\, artistic\, musical\, and cultural. Inspired by the traditi
 ons that brought communities together around the harvest\, the day will fe
 ature Appalachian stories and ballads led by William Ritter through his Se
 ed to Song project as we gather to shuck corn together\, reviving the comm
 unal spirit of the old corn shucking bee.  Participants can explore herita
 ge seed sharing and education\, corn husk weaving and doll making\, corn-i
 nspired arts and crafts\, workshops\, demonstrations\, and vendors dedicat
 ed to all things corn. Learn about the rich culinary history of corn throu
 gh nixtamalization demonstrations\, tortilla making\, a cornbread cook-off
 \, tastings\, and traditional foods from across cultures. From music and s
 torytelling to food\, folkways\, and seed stewardship\, Corn Day honors th
 e humble grain that has nourished communities and shaped traditions for ge
